A Snowy Photo Shoot Destiny… Fulfilled: The Thiessen Family in the Snow | Manhattan, Kansas Family Photographer

Snow photos in Kansas are far and few between, and it takes some pretty sophisticated planning on the part of the client and the photographer, or just a major stroke of luck. For this particular family, who I’ve had the pleasure of photographing now for several years, we did in fact manage to pull off some trapeze artist caliber of planning to be in the same place at the same time when their sweet town was covered in a fresh coat of snow.

Thankfully, waiting until the day after the snow fell meant the roads were cleared for travel, but the scenery was still an idyllic kind of wintry vibe. A couple huskies, two adorably bundled children, and two parents with all the love needed to make such a photo shoot happen, made for a pretty great photo shoot. As things go, it wasn’t long before I was taking part in a snowball fight with the children, and a snowman came into existence, and yep, things were undeniably wonderful.
