A Few of My Favorite Frames: 2021 Couples in Review | Manhattan, Kansas Photographer

When I labelled the sections on my web-site, I always got hung-up on the “Couples” section. Do I call it anniversaries for couples who are already married? And then have another section for actual “engagements” for those who are ready to be married? And what about those who aren’t getting married but still want to celebrate their relationship? In the end, I decided that in order to be honest about the contents of the gallery and to still be able to exhibit the beauty of two people in love, naming it “Couples” was the best option.

So, here I bring you my favorite frames from my couples sessions from this year, be they from those engaged, married, or somewhere in between, I took delight in every moment. Some of these sessions were photographed as traditional engagement sessions, others were taken from combination engagement sessions and family sessions, while others still were simply some favorite images of couples from their own family sessions.

What made some of these sessions especially special to me were the way couples decided to make their photoshoot slightly more personalized, whether it was their somewhat Edwardian outfit choices to channel Jane Austen or their stroll on their family property on which they intended live. Some couples also decided to take light risks, laying in the grass, enduring my choice of creative lenses, or taking just a little more time at their session to let me find the light and let the beauty of the location and their relationships unfold.

The beauty and the love is worth taking the time to admire, and I’m happy to share them all with you today!
