Joyfully drenched in Sunshine with the York family . Manhattan, Kansas Family Photographer

For several years now I’ve known the York family, but it wasn’t until this fall I had the chance to photograph them. While I’ve seen them interact daily with one another, something just really stood out to me about them during their session. When they hugged, they really hugged, not like they were getting a photo taken, but they were seizing a moment to be near to one another. When they laughed, they weren’t appeasing a photographer and her bad jokes with forced smiles, but they were caught up in pure delight. It was easy to get caught up in it all myself, and I walked away feeling like everyone could learn a thing or two about connection from this family.

Grateful, as always, to see love like this, and to have the opportunity to capture this family on camera!
